Career

Michael joined Westkin in 2017, having practised immigration law since 2005.

With many years ‘of experience in immigration law, Michael has assisted clients in every category of application, including the Worker categories, Points Based System, all business categories, EEA applications, complex family-based applications, human rights-based applications, asylum claims, detention and bail, and challenges to deportation. Michael has developed expertise in applications made under the Innovator and Global Talent categories.

Michael is widely recognised for his sensitive, compassionate and understanding attitude, always gaining the confidence of clients, along with his pragmatic and fearless approach to achieving the best results. Michael is also renowned for having the highest level of discretion and professionalism, having assisted many high-profile clients throughout his career. Michael handles advocacy in the First Tier and Upper Tribunal and is responsible for all internal legal training at Westkin.

Michael has represented personal and business clients who work and operate across all sectors. With this wide-ranging knowledge of various sectors, clients have the benefit of a full range experience. In addition, Michael has built up a specific client base in the Deep Innovation Sector, covering issues surrounding major and fundamental innovations on a human and global futures scale & disruptive tech.

Michael began working in Immigration in 2005, as a trainee caseworker in the Immigration Department of a small London Law firm. He became accredited under the IAAS scheme in the same year and has held accreditation since then.

Michael holds accreditation with the IAAS since 2006 and with OISC (at level 3).

Education

Michael read Law at Birkbeck, graduating in 2012 with first class honours. Prior to that, he completed a BA(Honours) in Fine Art at the University of Southampton in 2003.

Leisure

Michael lives in London. Outside of work he pursues a range of interests relating to music, film and art. He also enjoys cooking for friends and family.
