Career

Kelly has practiced exclusively in Family law for over 15 years.   She covers a range of family work successfully handling high net worth Divorce and Finance/ Civil Partnership cases of a complex nature inclusive of businesses, pensions and those with an international element.

Kelly regularly advises on Schedule 1 Children Act applications, TLATA applications, nuptial agreements, cohabitation agreements and separation agreements.  She also has extensive Court experience dealing with children disputes (issues of residence, contact, specific issues and prohibited steps) including grandparent’s rights. 

Kelly provides realistic practical guidance together with a tailored personal service.  She offers a range of strategies to help resolve issues of separation quickly whether client led, mediation, negotiation or other forms of Dispute Resolution.

Kelly has practiced in a variety of Courts across the country having completed her first degree in Business and Legal Studies in South Wales before successfully completing the Common Professional Exam and Legal Practice Course.  Kelly returned to Yorkshire in 2011 and continued to work as an Associate for many years in Sheffield and Chesterfield before moving on to be the Head of the Family Department at Favell Smith and Law Solicitors based in Sheffield and the Peak District. 

In 2019, Kelly joined Consilia Legal as a Senior Associate Solicitor and decided to extend her skill base further by passing the mediation foundation training with FMC.  She is currently working towards accreditation to become a fully qualified mediator which will accompany her legal work.
