Joining Gadsby Wicks in 2004, Alan plays an vital role in the day-to-day running of the firm. His expert eye across a broad range of cases helps his clients secure justice, and he acts as a mentor for the firm’s junior solicitors.

With a keen interest in investigating the truth and a tenacious, detail-oriented approach, Alan is motivated by the chance to make a meaningful difference to his clients’ lives. Even in cases where compensation is not achievable, providing people with the answers they need to get closure and move on is something Alan finds very rewarding.

In addition, Alan enjoys the inherent variability of each case, and applying elements of anatomy and the law is an intellectual challenge that keeps him motivated every day.

Memberships

Alan is a Senior Litigator and Accredited Clinical Negligence Specialist with the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) and a member of the Law Society Clinical Negligence Accreditation Scheme.

Alan was also Vice-Chair of the Society for Clinical Injury Lawyers (SCIL) from 2017 to 2022, and a Member of the Public Affairs Group from 2015 to 2023.

Education

Alan achieved his LLB (Hons) at the University of East London in 1994, and qualified as a solicitor in 2004.

Personal

Alan is married with two children, both of whom are competitive swimmers.

Leisure

Alan is a qualified swimming official and volunteer at a variety of swimming meets in the East of England.
