Position

Shusuke is a licensed Japanese lawyer (Bengoshi) and is also admitted as Solicitor in England & Wales.

Shusuke has extensive experience in a broad range of banking and finance transactions (both domestic and cross-border) with a focus on aviation and maritime asset finance. He frequently advises banks, trading houses, leasing companies, ECAs and other financial institutions as well as corporate investors on wide-scale cross-border transactions. He offers clients with commercially balanced high quality legal services.

Shusuke is well regarded by clients and peers in the Japanese market and has been commended by legal directories such as Chambers and Legal 500 in relation to Asset Finance and Banking practices in Japan.

Before joining the firm, Shusuke had spent 8 years with Clifford Chance, including secondment to Morgan Stanley MUFG Securities, and also worked at White & Case for 6 years. He is one of the founding members of the firm’s Tokyo office, Watson Farley & Williams (Gaikokuho Kyodo Jigyo Horitsu Jimusho).
