Michele Ferrante, founder and Managing Partner of Ferrante Intellectual Property (IP)is an entrepreneur and a visionary business leader, who specialises in advising corporations on all issues related to the protection of their IP rights, providing tailor made strategies that maximise the value of their IP assets.

Michele has  wide ranging experience in multi-jurisdictional practices in London, Paris and Milan, enabling him to identify the issues that leading Italian companies were facing internationally during the 1990’s. Recognising China’s strong potential for growth in the field of IP and in 2004, Michele founded his first firm in China and its success led to the creation of Ferrante IP, a boutique firm and award winning practice, which is regularly named as the leading Chinese IP firm by the most prominent magazines in the industry.

Building upon his previous experience, Michele cultivated an extensive clientele, including companies in the automotive, luxury fashion, healthcare and beverage industries. His outstanding team at Ferrante have managed numerous groundbreaking IP cases successfully, building a formidable reputation which highlights Michele’s dedication to protecting his clients’ IP rights, strategically preventing future infringements to their IP assets in China.

Michele regularly contributes to the international IP dialogue, including writing regular articles for prestigious Oxford University Press journals. He presents regular webinars, for international organisations such as the American Bar Association and the European Communities Trademark Association Anti-Counterfeiting Committee and regularly contributes to  EU-China discussions, by way of lectures and presentations.

The hard work and enterprise undertaken by Michele in the creation and operation of Ferrante IP has been rewarded and he has been regularly acknowledged as an Exceptional Legal Professional by WTR 1000, The Legal 500 and the International Legal Alliance Summit & Awards. He was recently named in the 2024 Legal 500, as a Recommended Lawyer and as a Key Lawyer.

Michele speaks his native Italian and is also fluent in English, French and Spanish, enabling him to communicate with his clients in their own language.
