Wilson Wong is a Director of Amica Law LLC, and heads the firm's Commercialisation and Licensing practice. He has been in practice for 29 years, specialising in intellectual property (IP) licensing, agreements and technology.

Wilson's practice centres on IP licensing, IT, technology transfer, R&D, biotechnology, franchising, entertainment and other agreements involving intellectual property and technology, as well as general commercial agreements including manufacturing, technical services and distribution agreements, and hotel & property management agreements. He also advises on data protection, privacy, confidentiality and regulatory secrecy issues.

He has been an integral orchestrator of several high profile transactions, having established the legal infrastructure for the nationwide PayNow central addressing scheme for online payments, the FAST electronic instant funds transfer system for financial institutions, and the electronic cheque clearing system for financial institutions and the accompanying public key infrastructure. Other than major financial institutions, he counts among his clients statutory boards and regulary bodies, having drafted and advised on a master IP framework for a national project for a government ministry, as well as media and entertainment corporations, having drafted publishing, artiste recording, production and performance contracts, among others.

Wilson has been listed as a leading lawyer in Singapore in many regional publications, such as Asialaw Leading Lawyers for Intellectual Property, Asialaw Leading Lawyers for IT, Telecommunications & Media, and the Law Business Research Ltd's An International Who's Who of Internet, E-Commerce & Data Protection Lawyers. Asia Pacific Legal 500 described him as having "a fine mind and strong knowledge" and stated that he is a "results-oriented lawyer you want by your side".

His experience and expertise places him in good stead to be a key consultant and member of various IP organisations. He is a SCOPE IP Consultant certified by the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS), and has been trained to help businesses assess the strengths and weaknesses of their IP deployment and management systems, as well as recommend improvements, with the organisation's current and future needs in mind. He is also a member of the Interactive & Digital Media Expert Group of the Media Development Authority, helping Singapore to tap into the tremendous potential of Interactive Digital Media (IDM) to enhance its competitive edge, while aiding startups and International Research Centres as they form the core of R&D in an emerging vibrant IDM ecosystem.

Wilson was also the former Vice President of the Licensing Executives Society, a non-profit organisation for professionals engaged in the business of technology transfer, intellectual property, internal asset management and licensing, that is part of an international network with over 10,000 members worldwide. The organisation plays an important role in building up the licensing profession in Singapore through promoting training and education in technology transfer, intellectual property and licensing, as well as forging regional and international linkages to promote licensing. Specialist Amica Law LLC is recommended for the breath of its IP expertise, serving both international and local clients that include ExxonMobil, Huawei Technologies and the National University of Singapore. The team is acting for M1, the telecoms service provider in an application brought in the High Court by Disney Enterprises, 20th Century Fox and others for a Copyright Blocking Order. The case concerns a novel point in Singapore concerning whether the order remains binding if pirate websites change their IP address. It is also acting for Sun Pharmaceutical Industries, which applied for a product licence in Singapore to distribute a generic pharmaceutical product. This was blocked by Millennium Pharmaceutical under the patent declaration regime of the Health Products Act and the team is now acting for Sun in defence of a patent infringement action. Jo-Ann See handles all aspects of patent clearances and protection of IP rights, including opposition and revocation proceedings. Other key team members include head of litigation Jason Chan, who has expertise in biotechnology, computer electronics and telecoms matters; Winnie Tham, who is acting for Guangzhou Pharmaceutical in a trade mark invalidation action, and Wilson Wong whose practice centers on transactional matters including patent licences and technology transfers.
