Partner, Head of Claims against Public Authorities

Career

Chris is a Partner and Head of Claims against Public Authorities at Simpson Millar. He specialises in Human Rights Act and negligence claims against public bodies including local authorities, health trusts, prisons, police and other state agencies.   Chris also represents bereaved families at inquests and assisting with civil claims.

Other areas of expertise include judicial review in community care, prison law and other public law related challenges.

He has considerable experience of representing children and young people, and has been a qualified Solicitor for more than 20 years.

Chris is a member of the Community Care Law for Children and Young People network, Administrative Law Bar Association and the Inquest Lawyers Group.

Leisure

In his spare time, Chris enjoys spending time with his daughter, boxing and taking part (slowly) in triathlons.
