Career

Claire qualified as a solicitor in 2007 and joined Short Richardson & Forth in April 2008.

Claire is an assistant solicitor in the firm's Commercial Property team with experience in advising landlords and tenants on lease terms and associated issues, and in the sale and purchase of commercial premises and land. Claire also advises on a number of residential property deals.

A client recently gave the following testimonial to Claire " You've excelled in all aspects of our instructions and we are blessed to have had you working for us. Thank you for your personal attention at all times. Next time we have a portfolio to buy and sell we know who to contact for excellent service."

Leisure

I like to keep fit and enjoy cooking.  When I’m not cooking up a storm in the kitchen, I spend most of my spare time working on the rest of my house which I can only describe as a ‘project’.

Short Richardson & Forth’s ‘very good’ team ‘offers cost-effective solutions’ and is rated for its strength in advising on commercial property leases, as well as handling property investment matters. ‘Very practical’ team head Paul Earnshaw advised a client on the sale of a portfolio consisting of seven industrial properties, which involved various title and access issues, while solicitor Claire Devapal assisted Wordie Properties with renewal lease matters for its Manor View House in Newcastle. Peter Hall is another key member of the team.
