Career
In the years 2001 till 2002, Aleš Štravs worked as a trainee at the Spatial Planning Sector of the Administrative Unit Idrija, in the period from 2002 till 2004, however, as a trainee at the Higher Court in Koper. From 2004 until 2006 he worked as the head of the Legal and HR department at Mehano d.o.o. (a production company, employing several hundreds of employees) and as an in-house lawyer for two other companies owned by Mehano d.o.o.. In the period commencing in 2006 and ending in 2009 he acted as an in-house lawyer for the company Intereuropa, Global Logistics Service, PLC (one of the major provider of logistics services in the Central and Eastern Europe). In 2009 he joined the Starman/Velkaverh association of lawyers where he worked as an attorney and, through the course of the years, gained the position of one of the leading individuals (informal partners). Finally, in 2020 he co-founded the law firm Velkaverh, Štravs, Podgornik.

Aleš Štravs graduated from the Faculty of Law, University of Ljubljana in 2001 with the thesis on transport (maritime) law, passed the Administrative Procedure Exam in 2002, the State Bar Exam in 2004, the Mediators Exam in 2010 and the Attorney exam in 2011.
