Scott is a costs lawyer with nearly 30 years experience in legal costs, many of which were spent at the well-known legal costs practices, Kain-Knight and Masters.

Scott focuses largely on the opposition of claims for costs in clinical negligence proceedings, an area of costs law in which he has built a reputation over many years as one of the most experienced and knowledgeable costs lawyers in that field of expertise.  Scott also assists in costs budgeting and the preparation of points of dispute in commercial litigation.
