Career

Can is an attorney with triple qualifications, licensed to practice law in England & Wales, the State of New York, and in Turkey. Through his experience gained from working in different continents, he has developed a broad set of skills applicable across sectors and positions.

Can began his career at prestigious firms where he gained extensive experience in both commercial and financial law. He has advised clients on a wide range of commercial law matters, including complex commercial contracts and negotiations, while also working on financing transactions such as acquisition financing, secured financing, and other types of structured financings. He worked with a diverse range of clients, including financial institutions, issuers, and underwriters. Since then, Can has been focused on handling complex cross-border transactions and corporate and commercial disputes between Turkish and international parties. He advises clients on a range of corporate and commercial issues, including incorporation and corporate governance, and has successfully advised buyers and sellers in M&A projects. Can has also gained international experience working as an in-house legal counsel for a media company in Taiwan, where he was responsible for handling complex commercial contracts, resolving carriage disputes with cable companies, and negotiating retransmission consent and content distribution agreements.

Furthermore, with a deep understanding of DeFi governance, tokenization, and DAO governance, Can has successfully advised and assisted numerous clients in navigating the complex legal and regulatory landscape of blockchain, smart contracts, and cryptocurrencies. He has helped his clients to effectively manage and mitigate legal and regulatory risks associated with the implementation and operation of decentralized technologies.
