Career

Allan started practice as a commercial and banking litigation lawyer in 1994 at one of Singapore’s premier firms. In 1999, he joined one of Singapore’s larger public companies as in-house counsel. He returned to private practice in 2001, and focused his practice on securities laws, corporate and commercial transactional and compliance work.  Prior to joining Altum Law in 2020, Allan ran his own practice. He was a partner at Virtus Law LLP (a formal alliance with Stephenson Harwood LLP) from 2013 to 2018. Prior to that, he was a partner at Colin Ng & Partners from 2005 to 2013.

Allan has wide-ranging experience, having advised companies in all stages of their development, from receiving angel investment, drafting and structuring their commercial and business agreements, advising on their IPOs to their post-listing corporate actions, such as secondary fund-raising, acquisitions and disposals. He also regularly advises listed companies on their regulatory compliance, and assists them in structuring their transactions to ensure compliance.

Allan is currently an independent director of CNMC Goldmine Holdings Limited (a gold mining company listed on the Catalist Board of the SGX-ST), independent director of VibroPower Corporation Limited (a specialist provider of generators, listed on the Mainboard of the SGX-ST) and the lead independent director of ecoWise Holdings limited (a renewable energy production, resource recovery and integrated environmental management solutions company listed on the Catalist Board of the SGX-ST).

Allan is recognised as a recommended lawyer in the Singapore Corporate M&A category by The Legal 500 Asia Pacific (2016 edition).
