Lawyer from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. Specialist in Business Law from Universidad de los Andes. Master in International Economic Criminal Law from Instituto de Altos Estudios Universitarios of Universidad de Granada. Doctorate in Law from Universidad de Buenos Aires. He has served as Judge of the Supreme Court of Justice of Colombia, Professor at the Universidad Javeriana, as well as founding partner of Prías Cadavid Abogados.

He is also a Judge of the Criminal Chamber of the Honorable Supreme Court of Justice, Member of the Colombian Academy of Jurisprudence and of the Colombian Institute of Tax Law. Professor for 32 years at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in the area of Criminal Law. He has also worked as a professor at the Universidad del Rosario and at the Universidad de los Andes. He is the author of the book Anotaciones sobre Derecho Penal Económico (Annotations on Economic Criminal Law), and of several articles, published in specialized magazines, on topics related to Criminal Tax Law, Securities Market Criminal Tax Law, Securities Market, and in matters of economic and social order.
