Career

Prior to joining K&Co., Nasser excelled for over 32 years at the Public Prosecution in Oman ranking ultimately as Assistant Prosecutor General.

Over the years, Nasser has notable experience and success managing criminal cases having held various posts at the Public Prosecution from geographical posts to Head of Public Funds Crimes Department. He worked as a head of legal for the Directorate General of Passports and Residence, for seven years. During his 32 years of service, he got involved in drafting many laws and sub-laws, such as Civil status law, passport law, penal law, combating human trafficking law, to name but a few. He also participated in drafting court-martial law and was subsequently seconded to the Sultan’s Armed Forced, for ten months (2008-2009).

Nasser retired from office in December 2020, at the post of Assistant Attorney-General, he was then

in-charge for legal technical support office; head of Anti human trafficking department; and, editor in-chief for the “Community and Law” magazine, that he founded it in 2015. Immediately after retirement, Nasser got an offer from United Nations Office for Drugs and Crime (UNODC), for GCC, as a UN senior criminal justice expert on Trafficking in Persons (TiP) in the Arab Region. One of his main role brought in by this position is to provide lectures to judges, prosecutors, and police officers, in (TiP), and occasionally, in other legal areas. He is still working with the UNODC, from 2020, to

date.

Nasser obtained his B.A. Law from Ain Shams University, Egypt in 1988. In 1999, was awarded MSc.

Criminology and Criminal Justice from Loughborough University, the United Kingdom. He is a well renowned jurist in the Sultanate and a regular speaker at legal events in Oman and abroad. Notably, Nasser is a qualified UN Trainer on Human Trafficking crimes and has joined K&Co. as a consultant and practitioner heading the Criminal Litigation Practice department.
