Career

Ruben has extensive experience in arbitration as counsel, sole arbitrator and party-appointed arbitrator in international and domestic proceedings under the rules of the ICC (International Chamber of Commerce), ICDR (International Centre for Dispute Resolution), CAM (Centro de Arbitraje de México), CANACO (Cámara Nacional de Comercio de la Ciudad de México) CIETAC (China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission), and in ad hoc procedures. 

Recent disputes in which Ruben has been involved include projects such as a natural gas pipeline, electricity transmission lines, port terminals, and power plants.

 He has also served in disputes related to industrial parks, construction projects, mining, international sale of goods, distribution, supply of machinery and equipment, acquisitions, damages, international transport by air, animal health, franchising, wine and spirits and agribusiness, among others. 

In the field of international trade, he advises parties in various aspects of private transactions, in regard to agreements, payment methods, Incoterms, guarantees, customs or usage of trade, among other matters.

He provides preventive advice and represents companies in proceedings and litigations of foreign trade, including fields such as customs, administration and taxes.
