Career

Catrine has worked with labour and employment law for more than 20 years. She commenced her career with the Danish Employers Association and the Confederation of Danish Industry, providing her with a firm knowledge of labour law. Over the last 10 years, her work has increasingly included data protection with a focus on HR data. Before joining Labora Legal, Catrine co-headed both the employment team and the data protection team with Rønne & Lundgren. Catrine has previously worked for Accura and the international law firm Eversheds as team head HR and data protection.

Besides being a leading individualist, a highly respected key advisor on all aspects of employment law and with a firm client base of both national and especially multijurisdictional US and UK companies, Catrine is an experienced and well-known lecturer and speaker at courses and conferences in Denmark and abroad. She has authored a number of articles on employment law and data protection matters in both national and international publications, and is the author of “Data Protection in HR”.

Catrine is a certified International Privacy Professional (CIPP/E) and has a strong focus on developing the data protection area in Denmark. In cooperation with The Association of Danish Law Firms (Danske Advokater), she is pushing the privacy agenda among lawyers and law firms, and has initiated the creation of an advisory board on Data Protection under The Association of Danish Law Firms (Danske Advokater).

Besides Labora Legal, Catrine is a founder of the think-do-tank Dataethics.eu, focusing on ethical use of personal data, which is especially interesting in the cross, field of privacy for employees. She is the author of the book “Data protection in HR”, published by Forlaget Andersen.

Lecturer with several clients, authorities and private organisations, e.g. The Association of Danish Lawfirms, The Courts Administration, the Technological Institute and CfL Center of Leadership, and speaker at conferences and seminars both national and international.
