Ruud Brunninkhuis

Ruud Brunninkhuis, partner and lawyer at BUREN, is an expert in (international) restructurings and insolvencies. Hans Drijer, partner, lawyer and tax adviser at BUREN, has extensive experience in international tax law, including tax planning, M&A transactions, private equity and venture capital, financing transactions, corporate income tax, Pillar 2, VAT, charities and non-profit organizations, transfer pricing, as well as the restructuring of corporate loans and insolvency. Hans heads BUREN’s Kazakhstan practice group and is a member of the firm’s China practice group.

Ashley Hubers-Snel, lawyer at BUREN, is a member of the Restructuring and Insolvency practice group. Her work focuses on advisory and dispute resolution matters relating to (impending) insolvencies, WHOA proceedings, restructurings, financing and security interests, distressed transactions, directors’ liability and shareholder disputes. Marlena Koscielniak

Marlena Koscielniak, lawyer at BUREN, specialises in insolvency law and corporate law. Her daily practice includes advising companies facing financial difficulties and assisting creditors in recovering their claims. In addition, she advises entrepreneurs on a variety of corporate law matters, including directors' liability, contractual disputes, and (re)financing and securities (mortgage, pledge, guarantee, etc.). Marlena is also frequently appointed by the court to act as a trustee in bankruptcy cases.

Edwin van den Broek, Senior Associate at BUREN, specializes in Dutch and international tax law. More specifically, the tax return and related advisory practice. This includes drafting and advising on a variety of returns: income tax, dividend tax, corporation tax, tax units of large and medium-sized international companies, international holding and financing companies, active local companies. In addition, Edwin advises on tax positions in the financial statements and risk management in the tax return process. Edwin is also a team member in BUREN’s settlement of estates practice where he advises on the tax consequences of the settlement of estates, inheritance tax declarations and income tax returns or objection to the same.

Stefan van Wijk

Stefan van Wijk, partner and lawyer at BUREN, focuses on insolvency law, financing and securities and commercial contracts. His specialties are advising companies in financial difficulties on restructuring and impending insolvency, and advising directors and shareholders on liability risks. He works in insolvency practice and business law practice and advises businesses of various sizes in these areas. He is also available for appointments as a restructuring expert (herstructureringsdeskundige) and observer (observator) in Dutch Scheme proceedings. Since 2007, Stefan is frequently appointed as trustee in insolvencies by, amongst others, the District Court of The Hague, and is actively involved in insolvencies in which colleagues are appointed as receiver. He also acts as a lawyer in proceedings on matters such as directors' and officers' liability, contractual disputes and unlawful acts.

Martijn Vermeeren

Martijn Vermeeren’s, managing partner and lawyer at BUREN, practice includes insolvency law and corporate law. He advises various companies on such matters. He is involved as an adviser, administrator and receiver in the settlement of insolvency cases, acquisitions and disputes about leases, real estate and corporate law. Martijn has been involved in the settlement of complex bankruptcies as the receiver for Miss Etam and the Ruwaard van Putten Hospital. Martijn has also been involved in complex insolvency cases such as V&D, Mexx and MS Mode. As an entrepreneur himself, Martijn understands the language and the wishes of business people. He is also available for appointments as a restructuring expert (herstructureringsdeskundige) and observer (observator) in Dutch Scheme proceedings.
