Rutger van Thiel, partner and candidate civil-law notary at BUREN, specialises in general corporate law and notarial practice. He is widely regarded as one of the few specialists in the Netherlands in the field of statutory registered office transfers of legal entities.

After graduating in notarial law in 2006, Rutger gained extensive experience at several leading international firms. Thanks to this broad and international background, he is regularly called upon to advise on complex legal matters requiring both strategic insight and technical legal depth.

Rutger advises (listed) domestic and international companies, family-owned businesses and financial institutions on international structures and the structuring of transactions, including joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions. Clients value his creativity, decisiveness and ability to distil complex subject matter to its essence, without losing sight of the interests of all parties involved.

Since 2023, Rutger has also served as an auditor for the Royal Dutch Association of Civil-law Notaries (KNB), where he assesses the quality and integrity of notarial practices.
