Career

Successful litigation requires commercial acumen, pragmatism, and empathy.

No one wants to find themselves needing a commercial litigator.  However, when they do, they want responsive, straight-talking and pragmatic lawyers that not only add value and achieve results but that they also get along with.

For any dispute to have a successful outcome, an understanding of the commercial and legal issues involved is essential.  It also requires a clearly defined objective, a bespoke strategy that works (in terms of cost, timeframe and other wider commercial considerations) and empathy.

Litigation is a high-stress environment.  And, determined high-calibre lawyers that are responsive and have a personable approach is rare.

Jamie’s approach to litigation is based on the above understanding and principles; that he has developed during his career.  This, and the ability to prioritise the commercial needs of clients, play an important part in achieving their objectives.  It also enables Jamie and clients to enjoy working together.

Jamie graduated from Leeds University Business School before specialising in law.  He trained with Walker Morris LLP and went on to work in its specialist banking and finance litigation team.  Jamie then joined our Disputes team in January 2013 and is based in our Peterborough office, but regularly works from our Cambridge and London offices too.  He acts for large multinational companies, SMEs and individuals on a variety of high-value and complex commercial matters, including complex unfair prejudice petitions and international disputes.
