Career

Louise joined Zacco in 2018. Her international experience, commercial awareness and diverse legal background has seen her successfully assist clients across the brand spectrum with a range of IP and trademark issues.

After spending almost ten years as a legal consultant and advisor in the public sector, including time with the Danish Patent and Trademark Office and the EUIPO, she moved into private practice where she has remained since. She was admitted to the Danish Bar in 2017.

Although she often advises on IP strategy, clearance and prosecutions, she also assists with a range of opposition and official actions and is considered an expert in unfair competition and conflict cases, including the combatting of counterfeits.

Her expertise also draw from her ability to step back from the issue at hand, taking a long term broad perspective of her client’s portfolio needs, current markets, future ambitions and potential challenges, and providing a comprehensive solution strategy. She currently works with clients of all sizes, advising on single rights to international portfolios, in the fields of Finance, Food and Beverage, Toys, Pharmaceuticals and Fashion, among others.

Louise is passionate about the advancement of IP Law and regularly lectures on the subject, both within Denmark and abroad. She is co-author of ‘Trademark Protection in the European Union with a Scandinavian View’, published by Thomson Reuters, she regularly contributes to the Kluwer Trademark Blog and she has written comments in European Intellectual Property Review.
