Marcus has extensive knowledge in the development and implementation of his client’s IP strategy, an expert in understanding the legal and commercial aspects of IP, and he is quickly able to identify and assess the value and practical use of IP rights, contributing his expertise to successful outcomes on a range of complex due diligence and acquisition cases.

Marcus is a skilled mediator, able to assist with global infringement matters and dispute resolutions related to patents, trademarks and designs. He also advises on trademark portfolio strategy and the prosecution of international trademarks on behalf of both domestic and international clients, ensuring that filings adhere to their wider brand strategy and advising on alternative options where necessary. His regulatory knowledge and expertise often sees him evaluating, drafting and negotiating licensing agreements and other commercial contracts.

Marcus joined Zacco in 2011. He has a law degree from Lund University (LL. M.2004) and participated in the Masters Program for European Intellectual Property at Stockholm University. Before joining Zacco Marcus was an associate in the IP department of a law firm and, prior to that, he worked as a junior judge at the District Court in Malmö, Sweden.

His time in private practice and working within legislative bodies have given him excellent insight into the decision making process behind IP legislation and precedent, knowledge he often shares with clients and colleagues, and which enables him to offer advice on the most practical approach to identifying, securing and enforcing his client’s IP.
