Career

Valeria Vázquez has over 19 years of professional experience providing legal advice for the Oil & Gas industry. She is part of the firm since January 2016. She has broad experience in the hydrocarbons sector and has participated in several projects such as contracts under Pemex´s special legal regime, integrated services contracts for exploration and extraction, Exploration and Extraction contracts under the Hydrocarbons Law and related legal documents, active participation in Round Zero, Round One, Round Two and Round Three processes, projects involving midstream and downstream activities like transportation, distribution and process of natural gas and other hydrocarbons legal instruments, among others. Valeria also has counselled the Energy Regulatory Commission and the National Agency of Industrial Safety and Environmental Protection for the Hydrocarbons Sector in the development of projects such as, specialized services of consultancy for the identification of the best practices and international standards of industrial safety, operational safety, environmental protection and insurance of the hydrocarbons sector, for the development of a proposal for Mexico and in the project for the development of economic, statistical, accounting and financial models regarding the hydrocarbons sector activities. Valeria participated actively in the energy reform, as part of the legal team. She has counselled Pemex and its subsidiaries in corporate governance for several years. Before joining Deloitte, she worked as General Counsel for E&P Business and Projects at the Legal Department of Petróleos Mexicanos, the Mexican National Oil Company (NOC). She leads the team on all work highlights described in this submission.
