Espen Bakken is a partner at Simonsen Vogt Wiig, working on general commercial and corporate matters.

In particular, Espen advises on all aspects of procurement law and has extensive experience in complex procurement processes. Espen is engaged in procurement processes targeting international markets as well as domestic. He also advises on EU law, competition matters as well as in other regulatory areas such as sanctions and investment screening (FDI). Within competition law Espen has more than 20 years of practical experience in competition law from both the EFTA Surveillance Authority and the legal profession. He has specific experience in transaction-related matters, including obtaining competition approvals in and outside Norway. He also advises Norwegian and international companies on anti-competitive agreements, dominant undertakings, and the design of distribution systems.

Within his field of expertise, Espen represents public and private entities in negotiations and before the Norwegian Courts, the EFTA Court, in arbitration, before the Norwegian Complaints Board for Public Procurement and the Norwegian Competiton Authority.
