Career
Miriam Simsa is partner at Schoenherr where she focuses on insolvency & restructuring and banking & finance. She joined the firm in April 2008. In 2013/14 Miriam was seconded to Slaughter and May, London. As part of their finance practice she worked mainly on major IPO-related refinancings in the UK and CEE. In Austria, Miriam is regularly advising national and international financial institutions on all aspects in connection with distressed borrowers, including refinancings and loan sales. She also advises lenders and borrowers on finance and refinance transactions. Miriam graduated from Unversity of Vienna (Mag. iur. 2008). Recently Miriam headed the team advising approx 40 lenders to bauMax on the sale and wind-down of bauMax’ operation in Austria, Hungary, Czech Republic and Slovakia. Since 2023 she is a member of the Board of Directors of ReTurn (the Austrian chapter of TMA).
