Career

Throughout her over 16- year practice Donka Stoyanova has established an enviable track record in the areas of public procurement, competition, litigation, administrative, commercial, corporate, and international private law. She is an experienced competition litigator having successfully represented clients before the Bulgarian competition authority and in court proceedings for market abuse, collusion, cartels and other unfair commercial practices.

Donka has been involved in several major appeals of legislative acts of institutions such as the Council of Ministers and Ministry of Health and her experience includes numerous challenges of administrative acts of the Consumers’ Protection Commission and the National Health Insurance Fund. She has profound and varied experience in many challenges of public procurement procedures before the Commission for Protection of Competition and the Supreme Administrative Court.

Donka was a key member of the team who after a seven-year court saga achieved an out-of-court settlement for our client Sofia Airport refuting the allegation of its dominant position. Her recent work as a court representative of a leading Bulgarian pharmacy chain led not only to repealing of the significant sanction imposed by the local regulatory authorities, but also to a consistent court interpretation of the regulation on the price formation of a medicine, thus providing clarity and security for all market players.
