Position

Jason Hill is presently a civil litigator in the chambers of His Majesty’s Procureur (i.e. Attorney General) engaged in preparing and conducting civil litigation before the Guernsey Court of Appeal, the Royal Court of Guernsey, the Magistrate’s Court, the Court of Alderney, the Court of the Seneschal (Sark) and various statutory tribunals on behalf of the governments of Guernsey, Alderney and Sark as well as government departments and statutory bodies (including the Guernsey Financial Services Commission, the Alderney Gambling Control Commission and Guernsey Police/Border Agency).

He gives advice to those bodies and associated officers and politicians and drafts policies, procedures and other instruments.

He was appointed as a part-time chair and panel member of the Guernsey Employment and Discrimination Tribunal in September 2016. His role involves chairing, hearing and determining applications (made on paper and orally) arising under the relevant employment protection and discrimination legislation. When sitting as chair he is responsible for writing the decision of the Tribunal. As Convenor he chairs regular meetings, gives training and advice to other Tribunal members and liaises with others on behalf of the Tribunal.
