Partner. He specializes in Natural Resources (with focus on Mining), Corporate Law, Mergers and Acquisitions, Finance and Foreign Investments. He leads the Firm’s Asia Practice Group.


He joined Allende & Brea in 1999. In 2009 he worked as International Associate at Niederer, Kraft & Frey (Zurich, Switzerland), and TozziniFreire Advogados (Sao Paulo, Brazil). He is partner of the firm since January 2013.


He is fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese.


He is a member of Buenos Aires Bar Association, International Bar Association and the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation.


He obtained his Law degree from the Austral University in 2002. He attended the Duke University - School of Law, North Carolina, U.S. as an Exchange Student in 2001 and The Center for American and International Law, Texas, U.S, Academy of American and International Law in 2006.

High-profile department co-head Florencia Heredia, widely lauded as ‘very knowledgeable and well known in the industry’, recently acted for key client Galaxy Resources on the $280m sale of certain mining properties to POSCO. In another transactional headline, Heredia advised Pluspetrol on its acquisition of all the outstanding shares of LSC Lithium. The ‘very experienced and knowledgeableJuan Martín Allende co-leads the department and assisted FMC Lithium with the expansion of its lithium extraction operations in Argentina. He also advised Fortuna Silver Mines on an EPC contract for the construction of a gold mining project — impressive associate Nahila Cortes provided sole support on that work.
