Marcelo is a partner in Banking and Finance, Capital Markets and Mergers & Acquisitions practice areas.

He has experience advising financial institutions, corporations and investment funds on initial public offerings and follow-ons (IPOs and Follow-ons), private and public issuances of debentures, securitization, notes and hybrids/convertibles. He also represents local and foreign companies in mergers and acquisitions, asset sales, joint ventures, and other investment transactions involving various industries. As of 2022, he started representing sport associations and investors in connection with transactions involving soccer corporations.

The firm is well versed in cross-border deals, and has played a prominent role on some of the largest transactions to hit the debt capital markets. Alexandre Gossn Barreto, who is active in local and international DCM deals and securitisations, and Daniel Laudisio, who manages a diverse workload featuring equity and debt transactions, jointly lead the department. Up-and-coming partners include Eduardo Kuhlmann Abrantes, Mariana Borges, and the recently promoted Marcelo Moura. Joaquim De Oliveira is no longer at the firm. Vitor Henrique Pagani Arantes, the former head of Mello Torres‘ banking and finance practice, joined the firm in May 2023.
