Career

Jean Pierre Harb has been practicing for more than 25 years in international arbitration and construction disputes. He acts as counsel, and on a regular basis as arbitrator (co-arbitrator, presiding arbitrator or sole arbitrator), in ad hoc and institutional arbitrations including the ICC, LCIA, UNCITRAL, ICDR, SAC, CRCICA, LAMC, SCC, DIAC, WIPO, PCA. As counsel, Jean Pierre acted in approximately one hundred international arbitration cases involving EPC contracts, oil and gas, mining shareholder and joint venture disputes, and distribution and service agreements, and has experience in the fields of infrastructure projects, telecom, aviation, commodities, pharma and hotel management. In addition to commercial arbitration, Jean Pierre has represented investors and state entities in investor state disputes settlements before the ICSID or in ad hoc proceedings. Jean Pierre is a member of the ICC Institute, ICCA and various other arbitration institutions. He has appeared at numerous conferences as a speaker and lectured on the notion of investment in investment treaty arbitration and on international commercial arbitration. Fluent in Arabic, French and English, he has significant experience in the Middle East and Africa.
