Position

Kirt O’Neill represents clients in a broad array of technology areas in patent and trademark litigation and other intellectual property (IP) disputes, including antitrust cases. He has testified frequently as an expert witness on patent infringement and validity issues and on patent claim construction. He is particularly skilled at identifying issues that matter to juries, and he can present cases in a sympathetic and interesting fashion. Kirt holds substantive first-chair jury trial experience and combines it with significant technical knowledge, particularly in the areas of telecommunications systems and devices, signal processing and electronics. His electrical engineering background and experience working for a large telecom company permits him to understand and present clients’ patent cases in all forums, from district court to Patent Trial and Appeal Board to appellate courts. Additionally, Kirt regularly assists clients with the development, licensing and enforcement of their IP portfolios, with the goal of maximizing portfolio value outside the court system.
