Founding Partner at Lathrop, Mujica & Herrera Abogados. Attorney, Pontifical Catholic University of Chile (2004 – 2008). Master of Environmental Law from the University of Melbourne, Australia (2014 – 2015). Mr. Herrera leads the environmental and natural resources team. He has focused his professional practice on environmental law, water, and energy. He has 15 years of experience, holding significant positions in both the public and private sectors. He has advised companies from various industries, such as mining, energy, manufacturing, agriculture, real estate, transport, and aquaculture. He is an expert in the processing and identification of environmental and sectoral permits, as well as the performance of environmental, regulatory due diligence, and compliance audits. He has extensive experience in administrative and judicial litigation related to investment projects.
He previously worked as the Regional Ministerial Secretary of Energy of the Metropolitan Region, Ministry of Energy (2018-2020) and also served as the Head of the Sustainable Development Division of the Ministry of Mining (2020-2022). He previously worked in renowned legal firms, including Head of the environmental law area at Larraín, Rencoret & Urzúa (currently “Dentons”) (2015 – 2018) and Associate of the environmental law team at Urrutia y Cía. (2010-2014).
