Career

Dijana is a founder of DKL Law. As a legal practitioner and attorney, she specializes in various branches of law, focusing on GDPR, AI, environmental and energy law, FMCG, as well as corporate law. She led major company acquisition projects by investment funds. Together with her team of attorneys and consultants, she concentrates on legal matters both within and beyond the borders of the Republic of Croatia. Her clients operate in countries within and outside the EU, including the UK, France, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Spain, Austria, Germany, the USA and the People’s Republic of China.

In privacy protection and personal data projects, she has led teams and worked on risk analyses, strategic decision-making based on identified business risks, privacy protection requirement implementation, GDPR compliance, business process audits, and gap analysis. She has also represented organizations before domestic and international data protection authorities and courts, managed legal teams during cyberattacks or other types of security incidents, served as an external data protection officer, and facilitated compliance for organizations newly operating in the EU. Dijana was a member of the Expert Working Group for drafting the Law on the Implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), established under the Ministry of Administration.

She has also navigated intellectual property matters, negotiated software licensing agreements, and addressed cybersecurity challenges.

Beyond privacy, her areas of expertise include consumer, corporate, and commercial law.
