First Compliance Software in Peru
Valderrama Abogados is the first law firm in Peru which creates a software for managing regulatory compliance processes, Legal Compliance Scan.
This integral platform offers review of operations, training and process uploads which will help our clients with the implementation of adequate policies to prevent, detect and manage the risks of non-compliance with standard worker protection regulations, avoiding penalties and financial losses.
We also can manage all queries from the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU), creating sanctioning projects because it is a platform that organizes the company’s documentation on its prevention systems.
Additionally, makes it easier for us to reach the information requested by the regulatory entity and the possibility of reviewing all the guidelines that ensure the effectiveness of the compliance system. Also, the platform guarantees the security and privacy of data and streamlines compliance processes.
Legal Compliance Scan allows processes, client due diligence, suppliers, investors and stakeholders.
Achievements in Compliance
We are proud to have been the firm that managed to change the criteria of the regulatory body (FIU) on the treatment of the real estate sector in the designation of compliance officers, achieving that the entity understands the business model and can adapt the compliance programs to it, making it possible for companies being formalized and regulated, and not have a non-compliance in front of the regulator.
The second outstanding achievement is that we have the highest percentage of approval by the regulatory body in the audits that it performed on our clients, all of which were passed successfully and satisfactorily for them without any type of contingency. This situation is extremely valuable and important for us due to the complexity of the audits and the exhaustiveness of the review by the regulatory body.
This experience added to our high degree of knowledge in terms of regulatory compliance, has allowed us to be outstanding speakers and panelists. Now, Karina Quinde, our Regulatory Compliance Manager; and Erick Valderrama, Head of our firm, are required by entities to give training and seminars on Compliance worldwide.

Erick Valderrama, head of our team; he has been recognized for knowledge of the corporate regulation and for his creativity for solve complex situations. In the academic, he is professor of the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, the most reputed Law school in Perú.
Karina Quinde, who leads the implementation, development, and execution of Compliance programs. This outstanding experience has allowed her to be appointed as the president of the Peruvian Institute of Compliance, the most important entity in Compliance in Peru. She has led more than 50 implementations of FIU compliance and consumer protection programs for companies in tourism, real estate, construction and retail sectors. She has also been responsible for implementing Personal Data policies for over 15 companies and has advised on procedures before INDECOPI and government contracts.
Dulmer Marca in Real Estate. He has more than 10 years of experience in real estate consulting. His areas of practice are: Civil Law, Administrative Law, Municipal Law, Government Contracts and Arbitration. He is recognized for his knowledge of the industry, especially in the public sector. Dulmer provided comprehensive legal advice for the acquisition and execution of multifamily real estate projects of more than US$10 million. Also, he provided legal advice in corporate structuring, construction contracts and management of real estate projects for an important hotel group with an investment of US$30 million. His ability to identify risks and manage them in each transaction in which it participates allows him to provide our clients with creative and efficient solutions and structures.
Carlos Enríquez in Corporate. He has provided contractual and corporate advice to numerous domestic and foreign companies, leading mergers, spin-offs, re-domiciliation of foreign companies, dissolution and liquidation proceedings, establishment of branches and structuring of private investment funds. Carlos has been responsible for leading the Corporate Restructuring of one of the main clinics (US $200 million). Additionally, he also led the Merger procedure of one of the most recognized institutes in the country (US 72.6 million), one of the most relevant transactions for the education sector in 2021.
Patricia Kcomt in Labor. She has led projects for the implementation of labor compliance standards and due diligence in local and international companies. She has also led salary restructurings of companies in different sectors, implemented salary equality policies and advised on auditing processes in national entities. She has also overseen hiring national and foreign employees, and has executed programs of disciplinary procedures, collective and individual dismissal of personnel and partners in managerial positions. With her leadership, our firm have achieved the alliance with the Peruvian Association of Human Resources (APERHU), which allows us to generate movement on legal issues in different media and to be part of a community of experts in labor regulations and personnel management.
Cesar Salazar in Tax Area. He has led important cases in the mining industry that had a huge impact. He won cases amounting to S/.1.2 billion soles, including tax issues such as Holding Certificates, Rollback, the appropriate tax rate for the expenses during the development stage, and interest charges in excess. He also implemented tax policies for the expenses related to social responsibility and communities, that helped save millions of soles within the mining industry. He participated in the tax planning of many corporate restructurings. Cesar is a referent when it comes to tax mining, and due to that he has been invited as speaker and teacher to many conferences and universities.
