Kaare Andreas Shetelig is a Partner at Wikborg Rein's Oslo office and is head of the firm's Industry, Dispute Resolution & Public Sector group.

His main areas of practice include issues relating to arbitration as well as litigation and dispute resolution, including cases related to tax law, professional liability, company law, energy law and contract law as well as pension law and public administration law.

He has extensively pleaded cases before Norwegian courts at all levels, including a number of cases before the Norwegian Supreme Court, as well as ad hoc arbitration under the Norwegian Arbitration Act. In addition, he has experience as arbitrator in Norwegian arbitration cases.

Shetelig has also extensive experience with international arbitration, including cases under the ICC Rules of Arbitration and the SCC Rules. He has successfully advised and/or represented a number of buyers of natural gas in price review disputes under Long Term Gas Sales Agreements as well as parties under Share Purchase Agreements and Shareholder Agreements.

Shetelig is ranked as an "leaders in their field" individual in the category Dispute Resolution in Chambers Global and Chambers Europe 2016..

Ola Haugen heads the practice at Wikborg Rein and has 'a prodigious command of the law'; clients also praise 'excellent lawyer' Kaare Andreas Shetelig (who 'does an excellent job'), and Ola Nisja who is 'outstanding both in and out of court and provides superb strategic advice'. Haugen recently acted for the Norwegian Armed Forces in two cases against Avinor relating to the transfer of Bergen and Trondheim airports to Avinor, and Dag Mjaaland represented Naftogaz in two international arbitrations relating to its gas sales contract with Gazprom and a transit contract. Norsk Gjenvinning, Troms Kraft and DNB are also clients. Mads Magnussen joined the group from his position as a District Court judge.

Wikborg Rein's 'excellent industry knowledge' covers transactional and M&A support, real estate-related work and VAT issues, with notable experience in the offshore, shipping and petroleum sectors; clients include Gard, Aberdeen and Sevan Marine. Anders Myklebust leads the department; he recently assisted NSB with the tax aspects of the restructuring of the Norwegian rail sector, and worked with litigator Ola Haugen acting for EDF Trading in a tax dispute relating to its exit from Norway.
