Career

Morten Platou heads the Tax & Structure practice group and works closely with Schjødt’s capital markets and M&A departments. He is a tax specialist with extensive experience in Norwegian taxation, international taxation, and corporate law.

Morten regularly advises clients on tax and corporate questions related to mergers and acquisitions, restructuring, financial structures, and management incentive plans. He also assists clients in disputes with the tax authorities.

He regularly assists clients with the tax implications of structuring and establishing funds and fund structures. He also regularly advises Norwegian and non-Norwegian investors on the taxation of inbound and outbound fund investments.

Morten has been a lawyer since 2010 and joined Schjødt in 2019. He graduated from the Faculty of Law of the University of Oslo and an LL.M. in taxation from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.
