March 18, 2019 – Ontario has received a total federal
government nomination allocation of 6,900 for 2019 under the
Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program.
Of the total, 250 nominations are specifically for temporary
foreign workers in intermediate skilled occupations (National
Occupation Classification C).
The figure represents a 4.5 per cent increase on the allocation
of 6,600 nominations received by Canada's largest province in
2018.
After reaching the nomination limit in November 2018, Ontario
was granted 250 extra nominations, meaning it nominated a total of
6,850 candidates for permanent residence last year.
The 250 NOC C nominations come after the federal government
recently announced 2,000 extra Provincial Nomination Program
spaces for these intermediate-skilled workers.
