Career
Karla E. Sanchez is a partner in the Labor & Employment Department of Seyfarth Shaw LLP’s Chicago office. Ms. Sanchez represents management in all aspects of labor and employment matters, including federal and state court ligation and representation before federal and state agencies.
Ms. Sanchez has extensive experience in the area of traditional labor relations law, including representing clients across the country in unfair labor practice proceedings and representation proceedings before the NLRB, labor negotiations, and in arbitrations. Ms. Sanchez’s practice includes a strong emphasis on counseling clients on complex labor relations issues, including corporate campaigns, impasse bargaining, unilateral implementation issues, scope and composition of bargaining units, Section 10(j) relief, lockouts and strikes, and successorship.
Ms. Sanchez also represents clients in state and federal litigation regarding issues under the Fair Labor Standards Act, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, and various other state and federal statutes. Ms. Sanchez’s employment practice also includes advising clients on compliance issues, such as reviewing employer’s handbooks, policies and procedures, counseling employers on investigations and disciplinary procedures, and advising clients on compliance with wage and hour state and federal requirements.
From 2010 to 2011, Ms. Sanchez was an attorney at the National Labor Relations Board, Region 27, Denver, Colorado.
