Career

José Luis is the Managing Partner of the firm. He leads the Administrative & Constitutional, Infrastructure, capital markets, processes of democratization and structured finance practices.

He has over 30 years of professional experience. In the Banking, Finance & Capital Markets practice, he is permanent advisor to several of the main national and international banks. Jose Luis has also advised companies in the sectors of energy, finance, media, public services, telecommunications, technology, in matters that include mergers and acquisitions, structured financing and investment schemes, and local and international placements.

José Luis has led the legal teams in 95% of the processes of share democratization that have taken place in Colombia.

He has been a university professor of undergraduate and post-graduate programs. Among his chairs are the introduction to law and specialized seminars on financing projects and international transactions and is author of several publications in the legal field, and exhibitor in numerous conferences and seminars.

Most notably, department head Ricardo Fandiño, advised the underwriters (Citigroup Global Markets, JP Morgan Securities, Santander Investment Securities, and Scotia Capital) regarding Ecopetrol’s $2bn bond offering. Other senior figures include Daniel Londoño, who acted as local counsel to Credivalores-Crediservicios on a $300m notes issuance on the international market, as well as Medellín office head Adriana Moreno, and firm managing partner José Luis Suárez.
