The ‘technically strong lawyers’ at Carey Olsen were joined in January 2024 by Tristan Maultby, who arrives from Walkers and brings with him a practice that covers real estate and Sharia-compliant finance structures. This augments the firm’s existing specialism in real estate finance, and its experience in overseeing the refinancing of existing facilities and acting on complex fund and acquisition finance mandates. Heading the team is Robin Smith, who maintains a borrower and lender-side practice, advising funds and banks on financing structures. Kate Andrews is the key contact for debt restructuring, with Peter German focusing predominantly on real estate financing. Fiona Dalton is also noted for her real estate finance work, acting for investment funds and family offices, and with particular expertise in JPUT structures.
