Bruce is a partner in the Banking and Finance team of Ogier’s Jersey office and has represented a wide range of financial institutions and companies on banking, derivatives, corporate, finance and restructuring transactions.

Bruce is the author of various client briefings and the Jersey chapter of The Acquisition and Leveraged Finance Review. He is also the co-author of a PLC article on the new Security Interests (Jersey) Law which provides a comparison of the Security Interests (Jersey) Law 1983 to the new law and describes the main changes which came into force in January 2014.


Finance associate Latham & Watkins and Allen & Overy (including a secondment with UBS Investment Bank), joined Ogier in 2008.

Ogier‘s capital markets practice has a core focus on high-yield debt. Bruce MacNeil handles the Jersey law elements of high-yield bond issuance for purposes include private equity deals. Simon Felton and Richard Daggett are also active on TISE, handling work including the listing of funds and debt. Clients also praise Raulin Amy. The aforementioned are also supported by managing associate Alexander Curry and counsel Chula O’Donoghue, who returned from a secondment in-house at HSBC in September 2020.

At Ogier, Simon Felton and Bruce MacNeil handle bank-side lending to elite private equity names financing both funds and deals. The firm is also active in real estate finance deals as well, many concerning key City of London assets, with MacNeil and Katrina Edge having considerable expertise in this area. Kate McCaffrey is a key managing associate who has worked with MacNeil on agenda-setting deals. Felton heads the practice in Jersey, and Edge heads the firm’s pan-European banking practice, which on top of Channel Islands responsibilities includes overseeing the Luxembourg team. In September 2020, counsel Chula O’Donoghue returned from a secondment at HSBC’s Crown Dependencies in-house team.
