Work Department

Corporate - Dental

Clare is a partner within the corporate department and heads up the Dental Team sitting within the Health and Social Care team at Harrison Clark Rickerbys.

Clare has been working within the dental sector for over 15 years, and as one of only a small number of NASDAL accredited lawyers within the United Kingdom, she is nationally recognised for my expertise in advising dentists.

Clare’s primary focus is on assisting dentists to achieve their potential, whether through buying, selling or restructuring their practices. Clare’s in-depth knowledge of the NHS and CQC frameworks within which practices operate allows her to provide specialist support to clients where issues arise with their regulators.

Clare is often called upon to speak at dental conferences and seminars to share her knowledge of the dental sector.

Clare joined the team in December 2007, and was promoted to partner in 2017.

Drawing high praise for its ‘brilliant people and fantastic service’ – particularly with regard to its ‘exceptional’ partner service – Harrison Clark Rickerbys handles a wealth of high-value mandates, particularly in the manufacturing, healthcare, tech, retail, education, and energy sectors. The team is jointly chaired by corporate head Charlotte Thornton-Smith and commercial lead Robert Capper. Thornton-Smith is particularly noted for her expertise in health and social care sector transactions, while Capper, who specialises in advanced manufacturing, works with a diverse range of both SMEs and larger corporates, as well as professional partnerships and doctors’ practices. Head of health and social care Rebecca Leask, who splits her time between the firm’s offices in Worcester and Birmingham, is also experienced in retail sector transactions. Wye Valley office head Arpinder Dhillon is a key port of call for clients seeking assistance with corporate transactions, most recently in the IT and sanitation sectors. Clare Emery heads up the firm’s dental care-focused offering, while Helen Higginbotham is recommended for her due diligence acumen. Tom Bartley-Smith left the firm for an in-house role in December 2022. All named lawyers are based in Worcester unless stated otherwise.
