Career

Zuri has a unique specialization in Insolvency and restructuring practice areas, including corporate rehabilitation and reorganization, creditors’ arrangements (including outside of the court), stay of proceedings, receivership and liquidation. In the last two decades Zuri has led some of the most complex and significant insolvency proceedings and creditors arrangements in the Israeli economy (including international arrangements). Among others, Zuri handled Zim’s creditors’ arrangement (in the sum of USD 3 Billion), the debentures holders’ arrangements of Delek Real Estate Ltd (In the sum of NIS 2 Billion), Scorpio and Kardan and represented IDB Development in the creditors’ arrangement of IDB.

In addition, Zuri has specialized expertise in the areas of infrastructures, projects, BOT and PPI agreements and he advises, among others, to the State of Israel (the Ministry of Defense) with regards to a BOT project in the scope of Billions of NIS. Zuri also represents clients in transactions of establishing power plants, water desalination plants etc.

Zuri handles complicated transactions requiring the conclusion of multi-dimension agreements among numerous parties having different interests.  Zuriel has led, inter alia, the privatization process and sale of the “Tnuva” Group to APAX Fund (a USD 1 Billion transaction).  Zuri also specializes in financing, collaterals and loans, including advising lenders such as private equity funds and other financial institutions and borrowers, on financing transactions.

Zuri also has extensive expertise in all aspects of laws involving the rural sector, including laws relating to agriculture, agricultural land, sewage and water. Zuriel has vast experience in providing legal counsel to the Kibbutz sector regarding its various business activities in the areas of industrial enterprises, agricultural activities, Kibbutz organizations (regional and national), etc.

Zuri is also a partner in “Beresheit” Fund – the first Israeli Leverage Fund that won in 2009 the first tender published by the Israeli Ministry of Finance for the establishment of leverage funds in Israel. Beresheit Fund manages over NIS 2 Billion and focuses on providing loans and capital to Israeli corporations whose operations are primarily conducted in Israel for the purpose of debt recycling, growth etc.

Zuri also served as a lecturer in the areas of insolvency, collaterals and creditors’ arrangements at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem Law School and at Bar-Ilan University Law School, as well as other legal and economic forums (such as banks’ credit departments, the Israeli Bar Association, etc.)
