Position

Tiberiu Csaki is a partner based in Dentons' Bucharest office. He concentrates his long standing practice primarily in commercial litigation and international arbitration (including alternative dispute resolution), and also has extensive experience in labour litigation, restructuring and insolvency, mergers and acquisitions, securities and privatisations. Tiberiu has represented major international clients from various industries, such as energy, oil and gas, maritime salvage, chemical industry, insurance, cement and FMCG.

Dentons successfully obtained an annulment of a fine levied on client Auchan's Real hypermarkets by the Romanian Competition Council. Practice head Tiberiu Csaki led on the matter and also achieved a positive outcome for Ovidiu Development on a claim for annulment of a building permit at the largest Romanian wind farm. The team handles a broad range of disputes in the energy, automotive, infrastructure, manufacturing, chemicals and retail industries.

Employment

Tiberiu Csaki and Anamaria Corbescu jointly helm the practice at Dentons, which advised InterGlobe Technologies on the establishment and structuring of its operations in Romania, including on hiring and termination policies, contractual arrangements and compliance considerations. JLG Manufacturing Europe, Autoliv and CGI Group also sought advice on the full spectrum of employment issues.

Restructuring and insolvency

Dentons acts for debtors, creditors, shareholders, foreign and domestic investors as well as officers and directors of distressed companies. Practice head Tiberiu Csaki assisted an global agricultural cooperative with a successful debt recovery via insolvency proceedings involving a Romanian trader of cereals. Work for debtors includes the ongoing representation of a chemical manufacturing company in insolvency proceedings, where the group assisted in challenging the measures implemented by the judicial receiver.
