DLA Piper Dinu SCA's practice head Monica Georgiadis is praised by clients ‘as the most professional partner ever worked with’. Her team is noted for its ‘good communication skills’ and handles the entire spectrum of employment law matters, placing particular emphasis on litigation work, employment projects and corporate transactions. The group assists Discovery Corporate Services and Ferrero Romania with day-to-day employment issues and recently advised UiPath on the employment implications arising from the opening of its second Romanian office. Sectors of expertise include technology, life sciences, infrastructure, transport, media and entertainment, energy and finance. Counsel Andra Trantea is singled out.

Magda Volonciu is the name to note at employment boutique Magda Volonciu and Associates. Her team is highly recommended for a wide range of employment matters. Maria Dobre, Corina Radu and Mariana Anastasopol are the other key names to note.

PeliFilip assisted Pandora Romania with the structuring and revision of compensation and benefits policies and advised L'Oréal on specific disciplinary and performance issues. On the litigation front, practice head Ioan Dumitrascu acted for Artic in a dispute concerning disciplinary issues and health and safety matters. Industries of expertise include financial services, IT, automotive, pharmaceutical, agriculture and FMCG. Razvan Ionescu is recommended for handling contentious work.

Ţuca Zbârcea & Asociaţii handles employment projects, corporate restructuring programmes, acquisitions, employee incentive programmes, social security matters and labour disputes. Serban Pâslaru heads the practice, which has been bolstered by the arrival of Codruta Maxim from Muşat & Asociaţii. Key client Telekom Romania received advice in relation to a restructuring process, including on mechanisms for a unified labour framework and assisting in negotiations with employee representatives. In another highlight, Pâslaru advised Tenaris Group on a range of day-to-day employment issues including union negotiations and harmonisation of internal procedures. Bondoc si Asociatii SCA in Alliance with White & Case is well regarded for employment litigation as well as employment-related considerations for business transfers and acquisitions. Practice head Mihaela Bondoc advised Delphi Packard Moldova Noua on two major collective redundancies, totalling approximately 1,000 employees, including consultation with trade unions and liaising with local labour authorities.

bpv Grigorescu Ştefănică's team is noted for its ‘fast responses, practical solutions’ and ‘commitment’. It is well regarded on both the advisory and contentious fronts and acted for Still on a wide range of employment issues including dismissal, relocation and damage recovery. Philips Lighting received assistance with contract reviews. Anca Grigorescu heads the team, which includes managing associate Cristina Randjak, who is singled out for her ‘professional approach’.

CMS provides ‘practical employment law advice’ and hosts an ‘organised’ team that ‘focuses on goals and results’. The group handles the full range of contentious and non-contentious matters and is jointly headed by Gabriel Sidere and Marius Petroiu, who is a specialist in corporate transactions, labour and non-compete agreements as well as confidentiality covenants.

Tiberiu Csaki and Anamaria Corbescu jointly helm the practice at Dentons, which advised InterGlobe Technologies on the establishment and structuring of its operations in Romania, including on hiring and termination policies, contractual arrangements and compliance considerations. JLG Manufacturing Europe, Autoliv and CGI Group also sought advice on the full spectrum of employment issues.

Muşat & Asociaţii's team is ‘characterised by professionalism and a pro-active attitude’, providing ‘great support from the legal point of view’. It acts for a predominantly multinational client base on a wide range of matters, from day-to-day counsel to labour litigation. Practice head Monia Dobrescu regularly assists Amazon in employee representative negotiation and internal policy regulation. Anca Vătășoiu departed to establish her own firm.

Nestor Nestor Diculescu Kingston Petersen's team provides ‘pragmatic, commercial advice and understands the client’s business'. Gabriela Dinu arrived from Ţuca Zbârcea & Asociaţii and serves as practice head following the departure of Luminita Dima. It handles the full range of employment matters and is particularly knowledgeable of the automotive, pharmaceutical and healthcare, IT and banking and finance sectors.

Noerr's team is noted for its ‘professional attitude, promptness and expertise’. Alexandru Ene heads the practice, which includes the particularly active Mircea-Catalin Roman, who supports clients ‘in a very quick and efficient way’. The team acts for strategic investors, international groups and domestic companies and is predominantly active in the retail, real estate and construction, automotive, IT&C and manufacturing industries. Roman assisted Accord Healthcare with various employment-related matters including social contribution measures.

Popovici Nitu Stoica & Asociatii assisted Leroy Merlin with two collective negotiation agreements and advised US-based Ferro Corporation on a range of industrial relations issues. The team handles a wide variety of instructions spanning from consultancy to litigation and is jointly headed by Vlad Neacșu and managing associate Ioana Dumitru. Other notable clients include UPS Romania, Ipsos Interactive Services and Ameropa.

Florentina Munteanu heads the group at Reff & Associates SCA, which possesses specialist knowledge of the IT, pharmaceuticals, retail, automotive, transportation and real estate sectors. It is experienced in handling hires, dismissals and collective negotiations as well as employee leasing, stock option plans and employee transfers in the context of M&A transactions. Recent highlights also include advising on changes to employee tax legislation and work-from-home policies.

Vernon | David hosts an ‘outstanding and proactive employment team’, which delivers ‘very good results on labour litigation and collective bargaining agreements’. Practice head Diana Neagu is a ‘real problem solver’; she is supported by the ‘professional’ and ‘client-orientedDaniela David, who advises Banca Transilvania on all of its employment matters, including dismissals, compliance and agreements.

The ‘professional’ team at Wolf Theiss is ‘friendly’, ‘helpful’ and ‘ready to find practical solutions’. It is assisting Luigi Lavazza with an employment termination case and regularly handles the employment aspects of corporate restructurings and transactions. Ileana Glodeanu and Adelina Iftime-Blagean lead the practice.

The ‘knowledgeable, helpful, quick and customer-oriented’ team at Kinstellar is noted for its ‘commercial mindset and understanding of business needs’. It handles day-to-day advisory work, contentious issues and non-contentious matters and recently acted for US-based AECOM Technology Corporation on a range of issues including dismissal and internal policies. Diana Condurache and Diana Rogozea head the team.

Laurentiu, Laurentiu & Asociatii has an ‘exceptional capacity to assess the potential risks in labour relations’ and is praised for its ability to grasp ‘the complexities of Romanian employment law’. Achim-Sorin Razoare heads the practice, which is assisting Steelcase with its new collective labour agreement.

Bruno Leroy’s team at Leroy si Asociatii acts across a wide range of employment matters, conflicts and disputes. Following the recent changes to the Romanian Fiscal Code, the group advised clients such as BAMESA and Air Liquide on the implementation of the social contributions transfer from employer to employees.

Placintescu Riti Lucian’s dedicated employment practice is headed by Ana-Maria Placintescu and also features Ileana Lucian. The duo provide advice to Netcentric Eastern Europe on a number of employment-related issues including agreements, regulations and collective negotiations. The team is active across the full spectrum of employment issues from ongoing advice to complex projects.

The group handles employment projects, renders ongoing advice, assists with trade union negotiations as well as with data protection and legislation issues.

STALFORT Legal. Tax. Audit. counts among ‘the strongest teams in employment law in Bucharest’ and delivers ‘very precise and thorough work’. Christian Weident serves as practice head and is praised for his ‘tailor-made support’. The client roster predominantly consists of German-speaking investors such as new market entrant KiK Textilien, which received advice on employee agreements.

Stratulat Albulescu Attorneys at Law's team headed by Andrei Albulescu ‘offers robust and pragmatic advice’. Albulescu is ‘always responsive’ and ‘ensures that clients receive the best level of service’. The group’s caseload spans a wide range of contentious and non-contentious matters. It advises  Flame Romania and Ipsos Interactive Services on a multitude of day-to-day employment issues.

Voicu & Filipescu SCA handles employment compliance, employee termination and collective dismissals, litigation, immigration as well as M&A-related employee transfers. Marta Elena Popa and Raluca Mihai jointly head the practice, which represents a number of clients in the IT services sector.
