Career

Vitor Butruce is one of BMA’s Research partners, bringing together advanced academic studies and practical experience in complex transactions and disputes. He has acted in notable projects in Digital Law and in Sports Law.

Vitor’s practice brings together advanced academic studies and practical experience in highly complex matters, ranging from analysis of corporate transactions and high-value multidisciplinary projects to succession disputes and lawsuits and arbitrations involving business contracts.

Vitor has taken part in notable projects in the area of sports. He is the first and current president of the National Dispute Resolution Chamber of the Brazilian Football Confederation, responsible for more than 500 commercial disputes in Brazilian football, and he had an active role in designing the legal structure for the FIFA World Cup 2014. He has also acted in the main international arbitrations conducted by the Court of Arbitration for Sport on by the Brazilian sports justice system, and participated in the reform of the Brazilian Sports Justice Code carried out by the Ministry of Sports in 2009.

He is also a member of BMA’s Digital Law and New Technologies group, advising on electronic contracts and the regulation of digital platforms.

Vitor lectured in Civil Law at the Ibmec School of Law in Rio de Janeiro from 2012 to 2017.
