Career

Giorgio is Head of Ogier’s Global Latin American practice, Head of Global Investment Funds and Head of Ogier’s Private Client and Trusts Group in the Cayman Islands.

Giorgio joined Ogier in 2002 and became a partner in 2006. He is Head of Ogier’s Global Latin American practice and Head of Global Investment Funds.

His investment funds practice focuses on the establishment of, and on-going advice to, offshore hedge funds and private equity funds for a range of investment managers and financial institutions. His over fifteen years of experience in the Cayman Islands funds market spans the whole spectrum of fund structures, strategies, and situations. Giorgio also represents institutional investors in their investment in Cayman Islands funds.

Before joining Ogier, Giorgio practiced at Sullivan & Cromwell in New York (1998 to 2002), Pinheiro Neto – Advogados in Sao Paulo (1994 to 1995) and Linklaters in London and Paris (1992 to 1994 and 1995 to 1997).

Giorgio is featured in the 2017 edition of the “Who’s Who Legal” for private fund lawyers and is recognised by industry commentators as a specialist in his areas of expertise for the Cayman Islands.

Giorgio received his Diploma de Estudios Hispánicos from the University of Málaga, Spain in 1986; his Bachelor of Law, with Honours, from the University of London, King’s College, in 1990; Maîtrise en Droit, avec mention, from the University of Paris I, Panthéon-Sorbonne, in the same year; and Master of Law from University of Michigan Law School at Ann Arbor in 1992.
