Career

John advises on a broad range of corporate matters, including mergers & acquisitions, private equity, venture capital and joint ventures. John has a particular focus on M&A and equity fundraisings in the renewable sector.

John has extensive experience working across the full spectrum of private equity and venture capital investments, from initial investments (including seed and angel investment) to interim convertible debt instruments to subsequent funding rounds (including series A funding and beyond) and acting on numerous buyers and sell-side roles in exits. In particular, John has regularly lead the corporate team on large vendor due diligence projects and worked closely with the lead partner on such transactions in negotiation and execution of such transactions.

John’s investment practice has a broad client base which includes private equity and venture capital funds and corporate venture capital investors (both domestic and international), as well as founders and companies seeking funding.

John has also recently co-authored the Irish chapter of The International Comparative Guide to Private Equity 2020 and the Irish chapter of The Practical Law – Venture Capital Global Guide 2020.

John became a partner in McCann FitzGerald LLP in May 2021.
