The ‘extremely dedicated and hardworking’ practice group at Nader, Hayaux y Goebel, SC is well-versed in the structuring, development and financing of infrastructure projects. Leadership of the practice is shared between Javier Arreola, Vanessa Franyutti and Alejandro Rojas. Arreola specialises in public procurement, the development and financing of energy and infrastructure projects, restructuring and insolvency mandates and aviation finance; Franyutti handles real estate and project finance, with a particular focus on investments in the hospitality sector and M&A transactions. Rojas, for his part, deals with project finance, regulatory energy matters and M&A. Additional key contacts include Michell Nader (banking and finance, M&A, capital markets, real estate and PPPs); and Santiago Medina (domestic and cross-border financings and M&A, corporate governance and energy and infrastructure project finance). Associates Ana María Alpizar (project finance, financings and M&A); and Fernando Castillo (projects, energy, capital markets, banking and finance and real estate) are also noted.

  • 'The Nader team is extremely dedicated and hardworking. They also know how to work through delicate and complex issues in a commercially pragmatic way - this is invaluable when working in a Latin American jurisdiction. I’ve found them to be level-headed in very stressful situations - they can be fully relied upon even in the toughest of situations.'
  • 'Santiago Medina and Ana Alpízar - both are fantastic to work with. They have taken the time to develop a strong relationship with us, and we know that we can fully rely upon them. Santiago is able to translate Mexican legal concepts into easily understandable bite sized pieces - he’s patient and thoughtful in every interaction. Ana is great at collaborating - she takes the time to understand all the intricacies in order to make sure that the commercial deal is accurately reflected.'
  • 'From an M&A perspective Gunter is a dedicated and detailed partner with great knowledge of complex negotiations.'
  • 'A large team of lawyers with specialists in a wide variety of fields. Always available to clients and ready to explain highly technical points or conduct complex negotiations. Much more focused on client service than other firms in Mexico. Always available by phone or to schedule meetings.'
  • 'With multiple lawyers involved, they take distinct leadership roles in the transaction, helping the client through difficult negotiations, as some partners are tougher and others more flexible. This makes it easier to reach agreements. Alejandro Rojas, in particular, strikes me as a great negotiator. Fernando Castillo strikes me as extremely knowledgeable about the issues, demonstrating great professionalism by thoroughly understanding every point of all the transaction documents. I also find the coordination of both of their junior teams to be excellent.'
