Javier specializes in project finance, energy and infrastructure, restructuring and insolvency, cross-border financing including real estate and asset-based lending. He heads NHG’s aviation practice, primarily representing financial institutions.

Javier Arreola is a partner at Nader Hayaux Goebel with a practice centered on financing, across its many forms, structures and sectors. His work covers project finance in renewable energy, infrastructure and energy, structured finance, syndicated loans and asset-based lending, real estate finance and aviation finance.

Javier also advises clients on debt restructuring and insolvency matters, which represents a natural extension of his financing practice, deepening the value he brings to clients across the full deal lifecycle.

Within the infrastructure and energy sectors, Javier advises in all project phases, from procurement and development through commercial and financial close and refinancing, including public-private partnerships (PPP). He leads the firm’s aviation finance practice, primarily representing financial institutions, and have been involved in some of Mexico’s largest and most complex cross-border financing and debt restructuring processes over the last thirty years.

Javier obtained his Law degree (with honors) at the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM) and obtained a Diploma in Commercial Law (with honors) from Universidad Panamericana. In addition, he studied a LLM at the Northwestern Pritzker School of Law in Chicago (with honors) and received a diploma in Management from J.L. Kellogg School of Management.

Javier also worked as a foreign associate in the Latin America fiancé practice group at Mayer Brown LLP, in New York.

Javier actively participates as a speaker in national and international forums and he is the author of several articles in his fields.
