ACH Colombia S.A: Counsel in the renewal of their insurance programme since 2020. This year it was particularly challenging as the RI market was hard to offer conditions for financial institutions specifically, due to the large claims in the Crime and D&O market in Colombia and the impact of the Covid Pandemic. Last period, the insurance programme was renewed for 18 months term, and thus this year we managed to help ACH to undertake a complete assessment of the insurance brokerage services to then quote the renewal conditions, being able to enhance them.

Financiera de Desarrollo Nacional: Counsel in an arbitration against an insurance company in Colombia, which denied payments of defense expenses under a crime insurance policy.  This is a very important case in our practice, because it tackles good faith issue under an insurance contract and how defence expenses must work in a Crime insurance policy. This type of cases has few precedents in domestic arbitration in Colombia. Our claim in the lawsuit was accepted by the insurance company during the first hearing of the arbitration and thus, managed to settle the claim in an amount equivalent to 80% of the claim.
